He worked hard to bring accounting business back to Tifton from the other towns where clients had gone to be served.
The firm expanded when Charles Powell became the first partner in 1974.
Through the years, the office building has been extended to reflect the growth in our firm, as we increased the range of services and added professional staff to adapt to a more complex business environment.

Mr. Gerald Herring (Jake) became a CPA in 1949.
He established the firm in 1950, providing tax services for individual, estate, trust, and partnershipship clients.
His experience covers every type of accounting situation for businesses, individuals, and farmers.
Mr. Herring graduated from the University of Georgia in 1947 with a BBA in Accounting, after serving 3 years in the U.S. Air Force.
He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia Society of CPAs.
Mr. Herring has been a member of Tifton Rotary Club for over 60 years, holding various offices during most of that time.
