Daren is a CPA in California and Nevada. Daren graduated from Sierra Nevada College summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and minors in Accounting, Math and Computers. He graduated valedictorian of the Class of 2000, and passed the uniform CPA exam in the same year on the first attempt. After graduating, Daren began working in public accounting, chiefly working in taxation with operating business entities and investment partnerships.
Daren attended the University of Nevada, Reno for graduate courses in taxation, and is currently pursuing a Jurist Doctorate at Taft School of Law.
Daren is a past Board member and Treasurer of Tahoe Safe Alliance, the domestic violence shelter for the north Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas, and a leader in northern California and Nevada region for effective programs to reduce the incidence of domestic violence and intimate partner violence, and former member of Placer County's design review committee, an advisory community board appointed to provide recommendations on development in the Tahoe Basin.
