After graduating from high school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin at the age of 16, Julius N. Kohler moved to Milwaukee with his family during the Great Depression era.
While helping to run the family grocery store on Wells Street, west of Downtown Milwaukee, Julius attended Marquette University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting.
Once out of school, Julius first worked for the federal government during the early 1940s and then went into public accounting.
In 1955, the accounting firm of Julius N. Kohler, Certified Public Accountant was founded.
