Travis is from West Lafayette, Indiana and graduated from West Lafayette High School.
He attended Indiana University and received a Bachelor's of Science degree from the Kelly School of Business with a major in accounting and minors in mathematics and East Asian studies.
Travis began his career working for Wabash County REMC.
In 1995 he passed the CPA exam and began working for what at that time was Painter, Gulbransen & Co, PC CPAs in Lafayette, Indiana.
