The accounting firm currently know as Simmons & Simmons, Inc. was orginated by Bill Avery in early 1930s. The firm later became Avery and Avery when Bill's Son Everett Joined the Firm. In 1970 First National Bank & Trust Company purchased the firm and renamed it National Accounting Service. In 1982 National Accounting Service was purchased by Bob Pivonka running the firm as R.C. Pivonka Accounting until 1988 when Kevin and Joe Simmons became partners in Simmons & Simmons, Inc.
In 2017 William Nusser acquired Simmons & Simmons, Inc. and continues to manage and operate the firm as Simmons & Simmons, Inc.
