Cook, Smith & Company CPA's LLC was originally started as a sole-proprietorship by Rodney Cook in 1992. In 1994 Steven Smith joined Rodney and the firm became Cook, Smith and Company and moved to a building they purchased at 119 West Main Street in Bellevue. In 2000 Steve and Rodney purchased the business of Val Schmidt CPA. Val had been practicing as a public accountant for over 50 years.
With the expansion and addition of employees, the two offices were combined at the office's current location of 1355 West Main St., Suite B in Bellevue. The name of the firm was changed to Cook, Smith and Schmidt, CPA's. Val passed in 2003. Following Val's passing the firm retained her name until 2012 when it became Cook, Smith & Company CPA's, LLC.
The firm offers a wide range of accounting services to individuals and closely held companies. Some of these services include preparation of individual and business tax returns. Preparation of both payroll and payroll tax returns for business clients. Preparation of compiled financial statements and client assistance in generating their own financial statements.
