Russell Thompson Butler & Houston was founded in Mobile, Alabama in 1987.
With locations in both Mobile and Baldwin County, RTBH is a full-service CPA firm providing accounting, taxation, and business consultation services to more than 3,000 clients.
Our practice is diversified and our partners and associates have expertise in both traditional and non-traditional CPA offerings, including audit and taxation, internal control review and analysis, business valuation, fraud deterrence and detection, litigation support and information technology advisement.

Four accountants - friends, buddies, partners - came together in the fall of 1987 with an idea to start a new and inspired CPA firm.
Not the stereotypical firm; but one that does it differently.
They came from a larger format where big brother had the plan on what our clients needed and wanted - they questioned that plan.
They knew we could offer our clients something else.

RTBH provides accounting and auditing services to a wide variety of privately held businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and governmental entities.
Accounting and auditing services represent a large portion of our practice, and as a result, we have extensive experience with all three levels of reporting on historical financial results.
An audit is the highest level of assurance and includes extensive procedures typically performed at the company's or organization's place of business.
Auditing procedures include gaining an understanding of internal control; assessing fraud risk; and examining, on a test basis, evidence supporting the accounting records, financial statement amounts, and related disclosures.
