I helped them to the point that a bookkeeper could manage the daily activity, and then returned every quarter to do payroll reporting.
After a couple of years, the owners wanted to sell, so I put together financial statements for the buyer.

I declared my desire to become an accountant on my third birthday so my favorite aunt would no longer have to work on my birthday because "I would help her be done before that last tax filing deadline of the year and she could spend the day celebrating with me instead".
Here I am some 40 years later having fulfilled my desire to be an accountant having followed in the family footsteps, only now I am working alongside my aunt on that last deadline of the year; at least I am still spending time with my favorite aunt!
