Services
Prior to scheduling a phone appointment with me I like to review clients prior years returns to provide them with an estimate of what my fees for the current year's returns will be based on the complexities of your prior year's returns.
2. Note any major changes from your prior year's returns to your current year's returns e.g.
Tax organizer (see blank organizer & video on my website on how to complete the organizer ).
Completing the organizer is not required for our first meeting.
Copies of year end bank, business credit card and loan statements showing year end balances.
With the credit card statements be sure it covers the year end (it will most likely have some of the following month's activity on it).
For items not found, online auction sites, such as eBay and craigslist, can also provide a good idea of what prices people are putting on used goods.
If you have a tree that you would like to donate its bounty to a wonderful organization please contact Community Harvest of Davis - www.harvestdavis.org.
Community Harvest's volunteers will come harvest your fruit to donate it to agencies that feed people in need.
You will receive a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the harvest as well as have it put to good use!
If your organization has an audit by a CPA, please provide the audited financial statements.
List of names of donors who gave over $5,000 to the organization during the tax year (need name, address & total amount donated during the tax year).
Amount of retirement plan contributions made by the organization on behalf of the executive director (if any).
Amount of health insurance benefits paid by the organization on behalf of the executive director (if any).

As has become usual practice, Congress passed some meaningful tax legislation as it recessed for the holidays.
The SECURE Act made many changes to how you save money for your retirement, how you use your money in retirement, and how you can better use your Section 529 plans.
If your business has a 401(k) plan or a SIMPLE plan that covers 100 or fewer employees, and it implements an automatic contribution arrangement for employees, either you or it qualifies for a $500 tax credit each year for three years, beginning with the first year of such automatic contribution.
