He worked with well known south Louisiana caterer, Patton's Catering, for 6 years where he learned the local restaurant industry from the inside out.
Jason graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2009 with the honor of Magna Cum Laude while working full-time at our firm.
In January of 2014, Jason passed all sections of the CPA exam with very respectable scores earning him the title of a Certified Public Accountant.
Since then, he has been continuously improving his knowledge in the tax field through continuing education.
Located in the heart of the Central Business District in New Orleans, LA, Whiteside & Simms offers a variety of accounting services for clients across the Gulf Coast area.
Due to his IRS and Big Four Accounting experience, Bates understands the complexity of the accounting industry.
Bates, Jason and their team of industry experts are readily available to address accounting issues ranging from budget analysis and accounting software selection to business succession and trust creation.

The amount of your refund isn't nearly as important as the amount of money you pay all year long.
If you are receiving a substantial refund, chances are you over-paid on your taxes.
A lower refund doesn't mean your CPA did a poor job, in fact, it means your tax plan was properly executed from the onset.
With proper guidance from your CPA, you pay the appropriate amount of taxes throughout the year, increasing your available cash on hand.
Your CPA can help identify and address compliance issues other than taxes that can significantly affect your business.
Owners, financial officers and bookkeepers have counted on Whiteside & Simms' expertise in all areas of accounting to ensure they make the right decisions.
As business advisors, Bates, Jason and their staff are constantly monitoring changes in the tax code and the economy to provide expert accounting advice for their clients.
If you are looking for assistance with assurance services, traditional accounting services, and consulting services, look no further than Whiteside & Simms.
Whiteside & Simms' audit approach entails compiling and analyzing data about our clients' businesses to develop keen insights that can result in improved controls and safeguarded assets.
Large families are the norm in New Orleans.
With large families come the complicated division of family assets and businesses.
