COPAS of Colorado is a non-profit professional organization located in Denver, Colorado, whose members are comprised primarily of accountants working in the petroleum or petroleum-related industries. Known domestically and internationally for its expertise in petroleum accounting, COPAS is recognized throughout the petroleum industry as a leader in its field with a strong membership of professionals dedicated to quality service to the petroleum industry.

COPAS of Colorado hosts 8 general events each year. Our May meeting coincides with our informative and popular "Education Day". Monthly luncheon meetings are held September through May of each year with informative and entertaining speakers.
Services
In order to be eligible for membership, you must be actively engaged in petroleum and related energy industry accounting, technological services, education or other associates services unless otherwise approved by the Board of Directors.
Each member gets one vote.
You are entitled to attend our monthly luncheon meetings and any committee meeting.
Our monthly newsletter is sent out via email with detailed information.
You are also entitled to receive the Accounts magazine from the national COPAS office as well as membership level information at their website.
The COPAS of Colorado Education Committee's mission is to initiate, develop, encourage, support and disseminate educational programs for the energy industry.
In addition to planning and presenting the annual Education Day program, the Education Committee has several responsibilities to the chapter each year.
Coordination of technical sessions (this generally means making certain each committee is providing a session for the year),.
Promotion of the COPAS of Colorado higher education scholarships and selection of recipients, .
The mission of the Financial Reporting committee is to provide a comfortable atmosphere where accounting professionals will learn about hot topics in the industry, specific financial reporting and disclosures related to the industry, obtain general education, and the ability to network with other professionals.
The mission of the New Professionals Committee is to introduce and attract new professionals working in accounting & finance to COPAS and the oil and gas industry through networking events and educational settings.
Provide a comfortable atmosphere where new professionals will learn about the industry, obtain general education, training, and guidance to assist them in their current positions, as well as, help them develop into future leaders.
