Harms Tax Service got its start in 1977. With his newly minted accounting degree from UNLV in hand, Kurt Harms began preparing tax returns for friends, neighbors and Nevada Test Site work associates. Kurt's skills as a tax specialist, plus his good humor, high level of customer service and reasonable prices were what people were seeking. Over a period of 30-years Kurt and his wife Sandy built the business to where we now serve 300 individuals and businesses on a year-around basis.

If necessary, I'll speak with the IRS myself. For the past couple years he was treated for leukemia. But toward the end of 2010 it became clear to Kurt and his doctors that nothing was working: chemo treatments were less effective, Kurt's good bone marrow was producing bad blood cells and his body was beginning to reject transfusions.
Kurt accepted his fate, said his good-byes and waited for the inevitable.
