Both John and Terry graduated from Lee-Davis High School in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
John (aka "Johnny" in high school) was an All-District pitcher on the District Championship Baseball Teams in 1968 and 1969 and was voted the "Most Valuable Player" on both of those teams.
He was a drummer in the marching band.
